Stratocell® AS

While Stratocell® AS provides similar physical properties to regular Stratocell® (at 30kg/m3), it includes anti-static agents to protect against electrostatic discharge (ESD).

A closed-cell polyethylene foam, Stratocell® AS uses chemical additives during manufacture to provide surface resistivity of typically 109-1012 ohms. This property safely dissipates static electricity over time without causing sudden, damaging electrical discharges, protecting sensitive electronics. It is almost exclusively used for packaging microchips, circuit boards, server components, and medical equipment. Sealed Air add a pink dye so users can easily distinguish it from non-ESD-safe materials.

In addition to Stratocell® AS, Polyformes can supply a wide range of alternative anti-static and conductive foams. Coupled with our material knowledge and in-house conversion equipment, we can supply solutions precisely tailored to the requirements of the electronics industry.
